Winter from the Inside Out

Winter can be spectacularly beautiful. It can be fun and playful. It can be long and dreary. It can be charming and cozy. It can be a lot of work. Sometimes it can even be surprising.

But these days, to me, winter is best seen from the inside out. So, this year I will be offering winter photos taken from toasty-warm places. I see no need to interact with the elements if it can be avoided.

Stay tuned for additional shots of winter from the inside out.

This takes a bit of explanation. After a hard rain, I looked out the window from my reading chair and saw this pattern repeated across the entire window. It looked like an apple or a heart. Once would have been an unusual phenomenon but how could this be repeated in so many places? It took me a few minutes to realize that it occurred where we had placed, then removed, some reflective butterfly decals to protect birds from flying into the window. A fun little mystery solved.
